Charity Orchestras

Charity Orchestras are musical organizations that have been designed to earn money for charity organizations they are associated with. Many of these organizations aim to not only help local groups, but they have also been created to increase awareness for classical music.

In addition to the above, Charity Orchestras are also known for allow amateurs and students to play. Most of these orchestras take students from certain music colleges. Some take in gifted students from high schools and grade schools in their locale. Many orchestras, such as the London Charity Orchestra and the Western Australian Charity Orchestra are known for allowing students to play.

Some examples of charity orchestras include Charties Philharmonia, Western Australian Charity Orchestra (WACO), the London Charity Orchestra, the Bangkok Charity Orchestra, the WOSP Foundation and the Great Christmas Charity Orchestra, Irvine Young Concert Artists (IYCA), St John’s Charity Orchestra in Sevenoaks West Kent, etc.

Charities Philharmonica was established in London in 2006. Professional musicians perform for this orchestra. It also allows selected graduates from the London Colleges of music also play. The London Charity Orchestra was established in 1999. It is known as one of London’s premier amateur orchestras.

WACO is known for supporting local charities and organizations. The orchestra’s ensemble is mostly made up of students. A committee of students from schools such as UWA, WAAPA, and certain local high schools govern WACO. The Bangkok Charity Orchestra is the first of its kind in Thailand. It supports local charities while at the same time promoting classical music in the country.

If you want to get your fill of classical music while at the same time contributing to a charity, going to a charity orchestra performance may be a good idea. Most of these orchestras play some of the best known works from composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Vivaldi, and so much more.
